...so I started looking at the engine bay, and found some trouble with the wiring.
The harness that goes from the fuse-panel across the fire wall, and on the right side devides into starter and AC connections has one cable that seems to have been shorted or something, since it has melted itself and some surrounding cables.
Any ideas, or tips and tricks, things to keep in mind here?
All input is very welcome!
It is working on 30 years old now. Might not hurt to replace it. Engine harnesses are not nearly as expensive as dash harness. Try 'Lectric Limited harness through The Last Detail.
same wire was burnt on my 78 when I got it. I ordered a new starter extension harness and the ac harness. Found out the ac harness was a back order everywhere I went but I finally called Doc Rebuild and they had one, its on the way now. I have tried rewiring parts of the car but gave up and just started ordering the harnesses. the ac harness should cost you about 140 bucks.
