Hello again...Anyone ever use the interior "skins"..They are around $100...ALOT cheaper than the $380 JUST for a dash pad. ..They say all you need is the spray adhesive to install them.....Thanks,Pete
I bought mine (dash skin) from corvette america and just used spray adhesive I think it was locktite brand. It came out ok. Drilling out the speaker holes was a little time consuming. Much easier to buy the complete pad already done but far more expensive. If your not too fussy it's a good deal. Just follow their instructions carefully!
Yup, it has the stitching. You will need patience for this job. There is a fair amount of stretching heating and fitting and centering involved. By the end I wished I had just paid the extra $200. If I remember it was about 2 hours of work.

I think they also provide you a "drill bit" to make the speaker holes...
If that is intended for me...A 76 color (Firethorn Red)....Thanks,Pete
I have a new dash pad from Al Knoch that I bought and will never use. Unfortunately, it's dark brown. If you are close to any Vette shows, you can pick these up quite reasonably from some quality vendors if you dicker with them a little and offer cash.
I've used "skins" with various degrees of success.
Best results I've had were with the door skins, I carefully peeled away all the original vinyl, repaired the foam in a couple of spots and applied the skin directly to the foam, those look good and feel soft.
Worst results were with the pillar posts, I followed the directions, (don't know what came over me :o ) applied the skin over the old vinyl, it was really hard to make them look right, in the end they looked ok but felt wrong and they didn't
feel right.
My advice is if the foam underlay is in good shape and you have lots of patience it's worth it, otherwise don't bother.

Knoch seems to make some pretty good stuff. Do you have any other dark brown pieces you need to get rid of?
