I live in Canada and shipping costs are usually a problem with orders. I usually ship my parts via USPS and not UPS for one specific reason - UPS robs you at the door with brokerage fees. They also charge you 10% of the order total...which really adds up on large orders. When you ship USPS, the only thing you have to pay is taxes and the actual shipping cost. The downside to shipping USPS is it takes way longer for the order to arrive - UPS on the other hand guarantees the part on a specific date via their tracking info. I just received an order from Corvette Central and they guaranteed I wouldn't have to pay a dollar when UPS arrived at my door. I didn't pay one cent at the door and the ups guy just handed the box over.
Corvette Central ships to Canada via UPS exclusively. We have entered into an arrangement to act as an agent of the Canadian government in order to collect all duties, taxes and brokerage when your order is processed. We will then remit all collected monies to the appropriate government entities. This allows you to know the total cost of your order to be delivered to your door, at the time your order is placed. There are no hidden charges! The exception to this program is Prince Edward Island. Orders shipping to this province will be processed through a Canadian brokerage house as in past.
I Agree, I just ordered a part which I really need in my next weekend while working on my car, I called them yesterday and they told me they have it in stock and it can be shipped right away, I placed my order through their website and in less than hour I got email notification that the part was shipped and a UPS tracking number, now thats a real customer service.
