Mirrors on a Widebody?
I've finally finished the sketches and BOM (bill of materials) for my mirror project...
I'll CNC up some door mounting tabs out of flat stock like I did for my hold down tabs...
Mill a pad that the sport mirror rivits to... imagine a piece of flat the right shape (of the bottom of the sport mirror with tabs cut out and bent down to carry 3/16 swaged aluminum tube and aliminum rod ends...

Does anyone have closeup pics of the real greenwood car that has these...

This second page link has a few pics, not quite halfway down, of the mirror you're looking for - I think. They are on the #48 car. They aren't closeups but they show more detail than your drawing. This sounds like a cool project. Good luck!

I believe that most of these cars (widebodies and the 68 L88's) used the "Sebring" type mirror. The pictures I had gathered for making my mount had the "tripod" style and the upright box style. The tripod style was very basic, it was three pieces of round rod, that where welded to a small flat platform that the mirror screwed into, the end sof the legs where flatened ,drilled and just screwed into the body.
If your looking for a sebring mirror, I have a spare that I had painted a feux brushed aluminum finish, looks bamn good, and I am sure we can work out a deal.
