Insufficient contact area on side terminals?
Has anyone found that side terminal battery connectors don't carry high current as well as post style??
Now this is the strange thing....under the hood on other cars the side post GM terminals give MORE trouble than in my '72 location....go figger, because of air circulation.....under the hood on ANY car, truck, van, I have seen both corrode all over the place....shine it up really good, apply wheel bearing grease, and clamp down tight, slather grease all over the outside you can get to, and it's CASE CLOSED.....
helps to scrub the contact surfaces around a bit as you tighten the bolt....
BUT in my '72, behind the driver's seat, stock location there has never been a bit or corrosion problem...go figger....
