Are you talking about Torque Thrust wheels? There are man yhere who run them including me with no adapters. You just have to get the correct backspace which is 4 inches on most 8 inch wide wheels. I run a 17X8 with a 4 inch backspace on the front and a 18X10 with a 5.5 backspace on the rear.
I have the torq thrust II with no spacers. Go to the tire rack website and they give you all the specs for our cars and prices. I bought mine from them and I'm very happy.

I've got the Torque Thrust II's (17's) running now with no adapters. As stated by many be sure to check back spacing. I believe mine are 4.5" but would have to go measure again to be sure.
