I have a trans oil temp gauge fitted on my "daily" driver.... a 4 litre turbocharged inline 6.... running 16psi (~ 500hp).
It's an electric gauge, and I have two inline sender units.... one is fitted to the engine oil line which feeds the turbo, and another on the trans oil line to the front mount cooler. I have a switch which toggles a relay which enables either oil line to be monitored.... 2 gauges in 1
A decent trans oil cooler is a must in any performance application.
It's amazing how quickly the trans oil temp rises if doing a couple of hi-stall burnouts, or a couple of laps around a sprint track.
