Default Exhaust hanging low..

I noticed that the hanger at the rear of the cat is missing. It scrapes at even a little dip. I'm thinking of going to the Mid America duals. Should I replace this with a factory bracket or "jury rig" it until I put in the duals?
Thanks :seeya

Jury rig. You'll probably have to scrap it if you go with duals so no need to waste money on a part. (assuming yours, like mine, is a stock 2" pipe and you'll be upgrading to 2.5")

good luck

Thanks terryrudy, that's what I thought. the Factory bracket won't straddle both pipes of the dual setup. I'll probably take some scrap thin sheet metal and make one :seeya

Agree that it's best to make one, and not pop for the expense of a new OEM type hanger, since you plan on going to duals. I installed the Mid-America 2 1/2" true duals, and each pipe is held up by a supplied "J" hanger in that location. While I used the supplied brackets and clamps, I did change over to SS nuts, in addition to anti-seize, for the "U" clamps, just to make removal a little easier, should it ever be required. I also installed new studs in the exhaust manifold, and use the deep, brass nuts, three on each side, for the exhaust pipe to manifold installation.

Another possibility when dealing with exhaust clearance is to add an additional hanger to a crossmember mid car. Not factory but really helps a lot.
