Hi All,
Looking for the voice of experience on this issue. Doing frame off on a 1971 roadster. Putting brake system back together now. I have the original brass "pressure switch" and block set that I removed. They look to be in good condition. Is there any way to evaluate these parts and their functioning or should I just buy new replacement parts? Are the reproduction parts any good, if I must buy new? Is there a forum member who rebuids and checks these pressure switches. Any advice is appreciated, as I am on a budget, and these switches are pricey.
Thanks
You're going to want to rebuild it. There are 2 o'rings on a piston that will go flat with age and start to leak. Rather simple rebuild. Looks something like this on the inside. This is a Blue oval part, switch is different on the GM and the end plug is a press in affair as opposed to the screw in shown here.
