Oil pressure sending unit problems
i bought the cobalt guages for my car and i am in the process of installing then but the oil pressure guage wont fit into the spot where the old seder is at next to the distibutor. the intake is in the way because the new sender has a shorter neck than the original and wont fit. is there anything that i can do to fix this? is there another location that i can install it or is there an addapter that i can buy? TIA

well i went down to the garage and pulled the threaded plug out that is just above the oil filter but it is slightly bigger than the sender threads and it also has course threads instead of fine threads like the sender.

hopefully the male and female threads are the same. if they are it will fix my problem. thanks again.

I think this was used to clear the ignition shielding. When I replaced my sending unit the guy gave me one that wasn't even close. I brought back the original to show him & he told me someone must have have done that to my Vette. No way it was factory. He got a stupid look on his face when I told him I was the original owner & I knew this was the first time it had ever been off............
