Default casting #'s

Hey guys,

I got my friend through a series of friends and after it sitting around for so long no one knows whats in it. I took the valve covers off and saw GM and the number 8782461 followed by K34. Has anyone seen these casting #'s b4??

If you misread the first number as an 8 when it's really a 3 then it's a 327 head from 64-66.

"Camel hump, no accessory holes, 160/62cc port volumes, 62cc chamber"

The K34 indicates that it was made on November 3rd, 1964.

Early camel hump heads will sell (used) for $500 easy.

If you pull them off, look for the "X" on the underside of an early "461" casting. This may be visible if you look underneath the head where the water passage to the intake manifold is cast. If you have the "X" there they have the largest intake port volumes of all the double hump castings. These are desireable to a stock class racer so I would expect them to sell for more money than a regular double hump casting.
