I have started to redo my interior on my 82. I got the seat cushions out but I cannot get the seat bucket out of the passenger side. The two front bolts were easy enough but the back two nuts (see picture with nuts circled in red) seem to be welded to seat bucket. It does not seem to be much room to get to these bolts from the underside..???What is the secret to removing the buckets so that I can get to the carpet?
Maybe I'm missing something but why are you not taking out the seat by unbolting the track from the floor? Slide the seat back take out the front two; slide the seat foward and take out the back two. Thats the way my 80 was. Good luck with your project.
It is like opening a time capsule.. after I removed the seat I found some southern California sand deep in the wells. As a young lad when I first purchased the car in 1985, I used to work at PT. MUGU NAS and played volleyball everyday at lunch..what a job.
Time capsule!! You want to really see some nasty stuff, drop the spare tire holder. Man I had all kinds of living and dead stuff in mine, and stink. I was beginning to think it was a flood car. (thankfully it wasn't).
