Default ??? speedometer problems
Tach is working, speedometer is not.....? 79 vette..checked cable...any ideas?

could cable be bad?

possibly. Dont forget to check the unit on the tranny. make sure cable is intact. Does it have cruise control? If so, it has two cables.

no cruise, but I have extra play on the interior end...wonder if I pulled it out of tranny....will check that tom....thanks for the reply

make sure the cable is broken somewhere in the middle, you can push/pull and tell. If its not, makes sure the transmission unit is intact and greased. Had the speedo been doing a lot of wobbling prior to quitting?
