Clutch fork adjustable pivot ball
The bad news is it took three tranny pulls to get the pivot ball adjusted, and at 5 hours per swap I spent three extra days just playing with the pivot stud. I dont understand why I had so much trouble. The previous GM stud was 1.375 (short one) and my new flywheel was 0.200 inches thinner than the previous GM flywheel. So I thought I would just extend the new adjustable ball I bought by 0.200 from original 1.375. But when I finished at 1.575 I noticed it seemed like there wasnt enough fork play so I pulled the tranny to back the ball off.
After realizing I had gone the wrong way (too short) I went back to longer and finished at 1.675. What a pain. The new Hayes clutch said nothing about dimensions to block face so I was on my own.
Just wondering if it's a Vette linkage thing that makes it sensitive to the ball stud adjustment? I used the short 1.25 throwout bearing, maybe that had something to do with it also, but previous was a 1.25 too.
