Default Pulling strut and spring?

Do you only have to compress the spring to get the strut out, or do you have to compress both the spring and strut?? Be nice im a newb

you only have to compress the spring. also wrap a chain around the upper controld arm and the spring so it dosent pop out.

are you talking about the front shocks? you don't have to do anything to the spring to get them out. just jack up the front of the car, take out the 3 bolts, and it will drop out from the bottom.

No it is a shock on both front and rears on these cars. You do not have to compress anything. The front spring is totally seperate from the spring. Just undo the top nut and then the lower 2 bolts and the shock will fall right out. When installing if you have gas shocks they will have to be compressed a little but you can do it with your hand. Get the top of the shock in the hole and push the bottom up to start the bolts and your home free.

Struts are usually on most front wheel drive cars and the newer cars. A completly different suspension setup than the C3 cars. They use a lower arm and there is no upper arm this is all part of the strut suspension.
