Just kind of a side note, but for a subject that has very little reader appeal or interest.....

I just noticed that this thread has had 1092 views so far!!!!

It's amazing how many folk recognize the name of the project.

Must have been someone reading it. And if you'll notice from the Forum topics, there are a lot more folks modifying big blocks for better performance, and putting in Richmond 5 speeds than are putting in LS-1's in C-3's.

Talk about a waste of space.

If a Vette magazine were to reflect general interest in Corvettes and if this forum is any indication of general Vette interest, the majority of articles would be about C3s. Check the subject numbers and posts on the main page...

That said, interestingly enough, the Vette shows I attended this past year were overwhelmingly crammed with C5s, driven by 50 something plus, extremely overweight drivers wearing bermuda shorts, white socks and sandals. Perhaps this is the source of interest for all those C5 articles...

I believe we are witnessing a parallel demise of high powered vehicles with guts and soul and replacing them with high tech, sanitized conveyances; just as the music world is losing talented musicians and songwriters (Harrison recently) and replacing them with high-techo, low talented, lip syncing, cookie cutter dance "groups"...

I, for one, hope the magazines follow the interests of those who are members of this sites forums. Although I could write a check for a new C5 next spring, what are my plans? A big cube, supercharged small block and new tranny for my C3!

As for the Forum...if you check out my profile, you'll see that I've been hanging out here for over a year. I haven't been inspired to post until recently, but both Bob and I have been paying attention when time permits.

Being a newbie to the vette world ( first buy in july 01) I am open to any info I can get about the vette world, i wanted mainly C3 stuff. I have never bought your magizine, Why? After reading several post on CF about the extreme lack of coverage of the C3 in you mag. I decided that my $$$$ could be used more creativily towards my car.
You stated above that you have been monitering the CF for a year, so I'm sure you saw these same post's, and have to agree with me. It was amazing the number of replys to these post's echo'ing the complaint about the lack of C3 coverage from you and your mag.

Sorry! you don't get my bucks, until you learn to play fair with us grease monkeys...

Exactly! Look at the numbers, guys! This should tell you something!

This is the case with more than a few of us here on the C-3 forum! Don't make the erroneous assumption that the reason that we have OLD 'vettes is because some of us can't afford NEW ones!
Why don't you guys bury the hatchet, and get back to what you do best; i.e. writing and publishing some awesome C-3 articles...all of us here would LOVE to see it! PLEASE!

My experience with print media vs. the internet was relayed to me by editors of a book series. They said they pay less attention to internet chat room comments and emails than they do to actual snail mail correspondence simply because of the extra effort it requires to send a snailmail. Its too easy to add "me too" to an internet forum post on the subject. But a snail mail requires that commitment and means more.

If every one of the C3 Forum members sent a snail mail to the Editors at these magazines requesting real content for C3 owners, I think we'd start seeing a big change.

But why bother? The forum and the 'net in general has much more content and in better detail than any magazine could ever provide.

We just had one of them saying that they occasionally view this web site. Snail mail or not, you would think that after seeing this kind of loyalty in a certian model(C3), that it wouldn't take a swift kick in the can to get them to realise that they are missing out on some of our hard earned bucks. Isn't that why they put out their mag. in the first place
