and if your talking about just the cushions , then ya gotta squeeze in the sides like you were squeezing someones shoulders together for the top cushion so they pop out of the clip ( getting them back in the clips is harder) and the bottoms once the top is out you can slide them towards the rear so there clip comes off.
doug,
you may encounter nuts on the underside of the floorpan too, if at some point in the past the threads were stripped out, i have seen more than a few with longer bolts and nuts/washers on the underside securing the seats. just a heads up for you.

I'm trying this same thing on my '76. I was looking at the AIM and it shows all of the bolts being on the inside of the car. However, when I push the seats back, I can't see the front bolts. Am I doing someting wrong, or am a losing it?

Maybe a previous owner removed them already? Get a flashlight, and check out the front of the tracks. There are either bolts, studs, or the tracks should come loose. I would hate to think Bubba would have epoxied the seat tracks down.
Don't switch the seats when you put them back either. That one puzzeled me for quite a while. Why won't these holes line up: OH, IT"S THE WRONG DAMN SEAT.
just removed mine last week, 2 bolts in front , 2 in back, found the best thing was a long extension , otherwise you are fighting the seat cushion and sides for the front bolts and the base of the seat back for the rears, get the extension. found a few things but the prize was the seat adjuster ball that I thought was MIA, must have come loose and found a home under there. good luck
