My car is done literally done! :) Now for the fine tuning.
I have a miss maybe a stutttttter but its probably just a stumble. Its barely noticeable but I notice it!
New edelbrock 1901
rebuilt distributor @ 30 deg dwell no advance curve
Timing at 8 degrees
Delco r45 plugs
Cheapy coil
Cheapy Points
Rebuilt Engine and heads
Proper gasket pack on intake to carb
Only 1 vac line and thats to the advance
Car idles well (except for a minor stumble)
Pulls strong through the whole RPM range and is smooth and fast under acceleration
At a steady throttle at low speed 50 mph and under in 3rd or 4th gear it ever so slightly lurches (again barely noticeable).
1/10 of a second hesitation on initial throttle from dead stop
Sounds like the primary meter rods and jets might be set up to lean or not adjusted properly. Lars has an exellent paper on the subject, he will send it to you if you ask. He describes how to do it better than I can. Drop him a line. lou
