On my 1980, I replaced all the wheel studs with longer ones. As I recall they were Moroso 2 7/8" in length with a .560 knurl. When I replaced the wheel studs, the stub axle was removed and set up on a drill press. Once set up on the press, it was a simple standard procedure to press the old studs out and press the new wheel studs in without damaging the threads.
Yes, when you get the rotor off you'll have to rotate the hub around to an area that is not occupied by the parking brake. It's been a while so I can't remember exactly where it is, but it can be done with stock length studs I know. Just pound the stud out and slip the new one in from behind. Use a stack of washers under a lug nut you wouldn't use on the car to pull the stud through the hub. Don't use the rim.

Good. If there is an opening I will find it. Keeping my fingers crossed that it could be done on the car.
I just hope I don't have to pull out the axle stub and o it on a bench.
