The side bolsters on the seats do make it kind of tough to get in. I'm going to move the drivers seat up about 1 1/2 inches so the seat back will recline more. Hopefully that will help.
Scott,
Since you and I have no qualms about retro-fitting our cars, I suggest going with a tilt-tele. I changed mine and made a set of brackets from flat-bar stock so the seats would still travel. Now my 5'2" bride can reach the pedals and the steering wheel isn't in my lap. Of course she may need a Houston phonebook to sit on to see over the new hood.

i just set my new 02 seats (not z06) in this afternoon. they sat way to high on the seat tracks so i pulled those off and just have them sitting right on the floor right now. theres just not even any contest between the old and the new. these things feel amazing. im going to see about adapting the old tracks to the new seats.

I thought about modifying my C3 tracks also, but I decided not to for 2 reasons.
1. The seats are much wider in the front and forward movement is short due to hitting the center console.
2. If I sell my C3 seats they'll be worth more with the OE tracks.
i can see where the size could be an issue, but i figure if i can move it a couple inches in either direction ill be good.
from what i can tell, if i just drill a new hole in the top of each seat track and put a small nut and bolt through each hole, itll mount to the seat no problem. the spot that may be an issue though is the width of the new seats in relation to mounting the old tracks to the floor. ill look into it more tomorrow.
The width of the actual mounting points to the seats differ by only 1/2" in the front and 1" in the rear on the 2 seats. My ZO6 seat mounting bolts from center to center measures 14" in the rear and 15" in the front and the C3 seats mount at 15". You should have enough room on the C5 seat rail to drill new holes. If not, you'll have to add a piece of flat bar to add more room for drilling. I don't think you'll have a problem.

There was a set of the Z06 seats for sale in the C5 section just the other day. I made a post in the C3 General about the seats and it fell out the bottom. They looked very nice. So if anyone is looking for a set of new seats, I would venture to say the seats would still be for sale.
Your seats look awesome guys. I have given thought to some seats like this in mine but never pulled the trigger because I was afraid they might stick up too high above the rear deck lid. Your seats look fine in your car Steve. I like them. I may still jump over to some C5 seats in my 70.

Eddie,
I posted these pics to give you guys an idea of how much they do stick up. That was a major concern of mine as well, but then I said screw it and bought them anyway. I'm really glad I did. Not just because I'm proud of what I did or because now that they're in I've magically convinced myself that they look good, I'm glad I did it because they really do look great in there.
I think it's funny that you are like me in that now you're not so sure which car to dump your money into - the C3 or the ZO6.
