Default Torn between seat covers or performance

The time has come again for a project. I can not decide which is more important. New seat covers, or a performance upgrade. I recently put in a new true dual exhaust. I notice the change only higher in the rev range, not much down low.

The car needs new seat covers. I need speed. What to do? What to do?

I hear ya. Seat covers and foam have been at the top of my list for about 3 years now. So far, I have replaced the heads, cam, intake, and added headers in the 3 years, but still no seat covers. I guess you know how I will vote :D

I like a nice looking car. Performance is a lower priority. Go with the seat covers.

Those are Al Knoch seat cushions put in three years ago. Come complete with new foam. Just pop them in. And yes I do sit in them. Zaino treatment keeps them in good shape.

I endured YEARS of ridicule and the most asked question ever about my car: "when you gonna do the interior?" I finally did it but it was the last thing done. This is how it looked for years.

It might be an "age" thing. I enjoy my 1979 very much to drive and show. I hit the drag strip once a year to see what might happen. This year was 15.9 at 87mph. That's OK with me. Road&Track in 1979 tested the L-82 at 15.6 and 91mph. The old girl still comes close :).

I rather have a car that performs well instead of one that looks good. Unless it is a daily driver, then the comfort of good seats is important.
Go for the performance.
You can always go back and get the seat covers next time.

Do the seats,

The speed thing will never be enough but the look good thing can be satisfied easily.

If it's a driver. Look good is important.

If it's a racer, strip the interior and go fast.

Go fast is only a part of the experience.

Terry

It doesn't make any difference whether you're going fast or slow, take a look at what you're seeing EVERY time you get in the car. Do the upholstery.

YEP.. I agree with Mike. You and everyone else sees the interior every time you get in or walk by. Do the seats first.. Speed is a never ending quest  :seeya :seeya :seeya
