rod came loose from T-handel wouldn't go into reverse. Took rod out and now it goes into reverse but it won't go into neutral. It will go out of reverse but when you put it in what should be neutral or any other gear it acts like its in forth gear when you let out the clutch wtf

I was monitoring the previous subject you started on the matter to try and help. When you start a new subject and don't reply to the other one, I'm thinking you don't want my help?
Should I stop?
In any case, I would get under the car and look at the shift levers like I said the in the previous post. I think that rod being broken may have chewed up the interlock in the shifter and your tranny may also be stuck in more than one gear as a result.
There was a letter to the staff "mechanic" in February's issue of vette magazine. Check http://www.vettweb.com to see if you can access it. Hope this helps :seeya

Just checked the web site and it doesn't let you access that part of the magazine. Sorry
It will go into reverse. But now when Imove the shifter from reverse to neutral or any other gear and let out clutch car acts as if it is in fourth gear .
Thanks terry
Not yet Steve. Busy at work. Loaned neighbor floorjack last week hasn't returned yet. Will post again soon and hopefully you 'll be looking and respond.
Terry
When you get under your car, leave the shifter in neutral, I bet the shift lever closest to the front of the transmission will be in the forward position(in 4th gear). Put it back in the neutral position and get someone to shift through the gears and see why it happened in the first place.
P.S. you don't need a jack if you have fairly long arms. I have had to do this in the middle of the road before(ie. no jack)........ Thats why I have a haurst now.
