Default Ignition switch wiring

The DeWitts radiator arrived today. Thanks Tom.

Does anyone have a picture of the ignition switch wiring? Specifically, the run wire. As I understand it, there is the off position, the accessory, run and start; and the run wire is the correct one to use when wiring the Spal fans. Is it possible to splice into this wire in the engine compartment, or does this have to be done under the dash?

I think I will be able to find it, but I would feel a lot more comfortable if I had a picture to reference also. I was able to find a wiring diagram, but I would really like a picture of the actual wire if anyone has one handy. It’s a ’74, if the year matters.

Thanks guys.

your best (not easiest) bet is to run a wire from the "ign"ition lug on the fuse panel thru the firewall to control a relay. draw power from the horn relay thru the relay to the fans. this will ease the current load on the switch, and will give you a switched 12v source for future use.

Thanks Jeff, I talked to Durango Boy about this also. I am gonna go with using the yellow wire that goes into the wiper motor. That seems a bit easier and the fan wiring has fuses in it, so no worries there.

Merry Christmas.
