Where is the best place to purchase a new 11" / 10 spline Clutch Assembly for a 1970 LT1 ---- Very much prefer to use original GM if still available but did not see any listing with gmpartsdirect.com.
Thank you.
Corvette Central has them, or at least as close to original as possible. (corvettecentral.com) With the advances in materials over the last 40 years, I'm not sure anyone makes clutch kits using the old stuff anymore.
I hate to say this, but go to Auto zone and buy one. They are selling new kits cheaper than some of my wholesalers quoted me as my price. Then on top of that it`s a "lifetime warranty". You cant beat that with a stick.
PS, the parts are OEM quality too. Luk brand. It would have been stupid for me to buy through my wholesaler the identical higher priced parts and with only 1 year warranty. I hate Auto Zone, but whatever. I may be crazy but i`m not stupid. .
I'd be careful with Autozone stuff. Cheap parts will still wear out even if they have a lifetime warranty. Then you have to replace them all the time. A quality cluch kit might cost a little more, but then you won't have to be doing a clutch plate replacement every year or two...unless you enjoy that sort of thing.
just got exactly that, an ac delco off ebay from a chevy dealer for about $110 delivered. it came in in the original delco box-proudly marked "made in china"!!!!!!!

Isn't LUK still one of the OEM suppliers? I have one in my '69 tripower and plan to use one in my new '73 BB, once I get rid of the 5 speed Doug Nash non-overdrive unit. Any dragsters out there.
