Etec 200s

383 stroker
Eagle forged balanced rotating assembly
Edelbrock E-Tec 200 heads
Crane Gold roller rockers, 1.6 I, 1.5 E
Comp Cams Hyd. Roller 242 L., 248 D., 110 CL.
Edelbrock Vortec Air Gap Intake
MSD Pro Billet distributor, 6AL Ignition.
Holley 950HP carb (had a 830HP but gained +21hp with the 950)
10.50 compression
high test pump gas on the dyno:
563 hp @ 6000 rpm
525 tq @ 4400 rpm

Plus the cam is huge.
The more I look into it. I am convinced that a vortec style head is the way to go. At least from a theoretical stand point.
The Etecs have the advantage over the GM parts as they use the old style header bolt pattern, so I can get some real headers on it.
I am still a long time away from buying the topend stuff anyway.
But I think with some attention to detail, I think a 500hp 383 is entirely reasonable.
