400 is my guess if its a stock converter.you may get lucky and have it last a while with more hp than that but its a guessing game. 200r4 i do not know.

With a trans-go kit and a 2800 stall, I was running TH350/500+ HP with an old set up and never had a problem.

Default I'm prob looking in the low..

I'm prob looking in the low 400 or high 300 range... so I guess I'll be ok?
anyone think this is a bad Idea?

(the 1977 turbo350 with 75 k on it...)
thanks

I'm running around 400 or so at the crank through my th350 with a 3200 stall converter and 4.10's in the rear. I don't take the car out of the garage without romping on it and it has held up so far. Knock on wood.

The Th350 will handle a lot of HP if built right. There is no definate answer to what you are asking though. The milage thats on yours would indicate that it is probably due for new clutches, etc anyway unless is has really been babied. If you have it rebuilt take it to someone that builds drag racing transmissions, they will make sure that you get the high quality parts you need for it to live long under high HP.: thumbs:

I guess that I'll try to run the stock th350 and have a 200r4 on hand to rebuld in case of a failure.....
I don't plan on driving to crazr but the machine shop
portcitymachine.com is estimating in the 400 hp range.
I wonder if it's hold up provided I drive it fairly nice...

If the TH350 in good shape, no problem w/ 400+HP NA 350. Drive hard!

It would be good to change the fluid & filter.
Trans. are rated in Torque capacity. The TH350 has a higher rating than a 2004R.
