Anybody muck about with Merge Collectors?

http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles...rbs/index.html

http://www.burnsstainless.com/MergeC...ollectors.html

http://www.burnsstainless.com/Xdesign/xdesign.html

Seems that some people advocate a venturi at the collector. Seems interesting.

The funny thing is that merge collectors were were first used on high end road racing cars in the mid to late 60's. Just look at any rear GT40 Ford race car or any of the open wheel race cares from that same period.

The problem is that it only works in conjunction with "ZERO" exhaust back pressure systems. Like megaphone pipes or megaphone with DB arrestors . Both of them are extremely loud

At least Car craft is only claiming 530 hp out of E-teck heads

I will probably give the people at burns stainless some money.

I think Stahl will make me some headers without collectors, and I can do some slip fit work to see what happens.

I would like to stay with a 2.5" exhaust for astetics but I think 3+ is more likely. Just have to figure out how to route it.

We run em on asphalt circle track cars ... SOP.
Don't see how they'd fit or work on a street car
