Decoded? Not much to them...

VINs for '75 ran from 1Z37J5S400001 - 1Z37J5S438465

1st digit 1 = GM Division = Chevrolet
2nd digit Z = Series = Corvette
3rd/4th digits Body Style: 37 = Coupe, 67 = Conv
5th digit Engine Type: J = L48, T = L82
6th digit 5 = Model Year for 1975
7th digit Assembly Plant: S = St. Louis
Last 6 digits Production sequence starting with 400001 and up.

How do we find out the day it was made on?
Check your trim pate on the drivers door hinge post. It has the paint code and the interior trim code. Also after the word Chevrolet it has a Letter and two numbers. The letter is the month and the two numbers are the day of the month that the body was built. The letter starts with A = generaly equals the first month of production. Most was Aug but in 75 it was Oct, so not 100% sure if A=Oct. Post the last 5 of your VIN and I can tell you what month it was built in.

That would be Nov 74. Oct 74 production ended with 02385 and Nov 74 production ended with 06180.
