Default Short causing blown fuseable link

Oh wise ones, do you think having 4 ohm speakers mounted the dash in series, hooked to a stock amfm stereo radio would be responsible for having blown a fuseable link if they had shorted or something like that? the speakers were in the kick panels but i decided to move them back up to the dash where they belonged... thanks, I heard of static, and front speakers clicking on and off while driving yesterday and then the car died, no electrical. found out this morning it was fuseable link up by the horn relay.......... the Vette looked nice on that flatbed wrecker.

ps, meet the family:

You can make sure it's not the speakers by shrink wrapping the exposed wires and terminals on the speakers. I have seen the terminals contact the dash frame.

I doubt that would cause a problem as far in as the horn relay, but I am not familiar with what power protection features that stock radio has.

Shorted speakers will not cause a blown Fuse Link, no way no how.
Speakers are powered by the amp/radio, the amp/radio is fused (or should be).
You sure its a fuse link? By the starter or Horn Relay?

reread your post, I see its on the horn relay. what year?
Here is a partial schematic that might help.

Check the battery charge wire going to the starter, disconnect the wires on the terminal with the red wire and then replace the fuse link, then reconnect the wires 1 at a time, see where that gets you
