Default Low Fuel light

I have a 77 vette where the fuel gauge works but the low fuel light does not come on. The light had been working until recently.
I have pulled center gauge cluster, checked bulb (ok). Where could the problem be?
Does the fuel sending unit have a separate connection for the low fuel light or is there a sensor on the fuel gauge?
Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks:o

No sensor on the fuel guage. Here is a diagram for an 1980. Your 77 should be close, if not the same.

Hey Dude!
Thanks for the diagram .
I guess the problem is in the printed circuit in the center console.

If it worked before. I know with my 78 I had to run way down below the red empty mark. And then I had over 15 mi. to the gas station. I also know from experience. Once you go behind the dash or take the bezel the wires are old. Just touching wires could brake the connection. I don't ever want to go back there ever again Took me 3 times before I got everything working

Mine has the exact opposite problem, the light stays on all the time. It just started doing this recently whether the tank is full or almost empty. I haven't been able to find the problem so I just ride with the light on, I'll probably just take the bulb out unless someone has an idea of what's causing the problem.

The low fuel light is controlled by the small triangular PCB that holds the light. I have heard that there is not a source for these at this time. You can jumper the wires on the back of the fuel gauge on the cener console. Jumping the wire one way will show full, jump the other wire it will go to empty. Hold the jumper on the empty wire for at least 20 seconds for the low fuel light to come on. IF not its the small PCB.

My 79 sat in a garage for over 13 years and when I got it the tank
was very close to empty. The following 2 years new motor, trans brakes I ran very close to no gas few time never saw the light. The last 2 times I ran it close to empty in the 2 years ive owned it the light started working. Sometimes the best approach is to do nothing and see if it starts working again. I had planned to fix mine but it wasnt a high on the list now I dont have to. Wouldnt be good to cause new problems to fix this minor problem then have it just start working again.

Best Regards
