Default Vacum Wiperdoor problems

Hi! Would be great if someone can help me or give me an advice. Was changing the Washer pump and Wiper motor of my 1970 Vette. Since this time (but not sure if it is in conjunction with this work because car was not moving since a few month) i have problems with my Wiperdoor. The wiperdoor works ok when the engine is on. If i switch the wipers on, the door open and the wipers run. When switching off the wipers the door will fully close. When shutting off the engine the wiper door open 2 or 3 minutes later by itself and then close very slowly again. Any idea what it can be? Thanks a lot for help.

You have a vacuum leak somewhere in the wiper door system.

Probably the safety valve under the right hand wiper arm is leaking. This valve is designed to prevent the door from closing while they wipers are operating. If its bad, it will allow vacuum to pass through and make the door pop up and down by itself until the vacuum is totally bled off of the vacuum reservoir which is under the driver side inner fender.
