Default Installing outer window seals on a 1980

I purchased a set of outer window seals about 7 years ago from a leading Corvette weatherstrip supplier. At the time, the ones being sold by this supplier and others "as correct reproductions" were not available. The seals I purchased are made of rubber and
are longer in length than the originals on the car. I purchased them to replace the originals after repainting the car and finally got around to it.

Problem is that when I installed them, while they make a nice tight seal against the window, the rubber material pushes the windows inward making it very difficult to correctly adjust them. Since the rubber presses tightly against the window, it also causes a lot more resistance for the motors. I gave up and reinstalled the
originals I was concerned that I would damage the regulator gears.

Question: Do the seals sold as "correct reproductions" seal against the window while enable the window to move as it should?

I just replaced my outer seals tonight with WILLCOX repros. They are the silver metal with the felt runner. They pop into place against the existing silver trim that you should leave in place when removing the old felts. It's basically two parts. The new felt took about three tiny screws to secure the two metal bands together in addition to the these balloon type pins that run along the length of the new part as well as two small screws on the ends. I did the window adjustment process per the WILLCOX guide which they have online and it works like a charm. There is a little drag on the window but I know the motors are old and I'm cleaning and greasing the tracks to improve the movement. I'm actually very pleased with the results. I hope that answers the question.

I have the right side to finish tomorrow so if you need a pic of something let me know.
