So ... back on the Vette. This time the rear panel SAGA !!
After the painter dropped the ball and didnt check the fit to the rear panel (as I told him too many times) I had to take it into my own hands.
-
-
PM after market panel:
-
-
-
Gap-o-rama...
-
-
-
So we decide to try a Used Original piece...better, but still need some work (a lot less)...
-
-
-
The center section corners had some stress cracks that I glassed first...
-
-
-
Then, started the layering...

These needed some work before paint (sure glad they came now, and not after the paint job)...

Chased the threads....

The overflow tank never got mounted, so lets do that shall we ??
-
-
I didnt like the single hole flange for fear the vibes would move it, so a simple solution was done:
-
-
-
-
1/8" roll pins....
-
-
Just one was needed....
-
-
-
Discreet....

Been a while for some updates ... so here you go !!
-
-
I decided to re-assemble headlight assemblys after the body shop had painted them.
-
-
A little disappointed to find someone had swapped out a headlight, and lost an adjuster.... Owner was contacted, and he will make it right
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
If you notice the discoloration in the low beam ... thats the one that was swapped out....
-
-
-
One of these is missing too ...
-
-
-
Gaps pretty good ...

Nose emblem and set of speed nuts.....
-
-
-
-
The front bumper went out to chrome shop (among other things) and after stripping, it came back for a test fit. Good thing because it had a nasty twist, and the shop had cut off the center mount to get in there and perform some straightening...and tacked it back wrong.
We quickly realized that a replacement was in order...so a good used one was ordered from down south...

I’m currently getting a new billet set up with an A/C all chrome, alternator etc. A new cool air intake, New custom hood, new power brakes, new wheels & tires, Music, speedometer with digital gauges, complete paint restoration, power steering, new lights front and rear, Slotted rotors. I’ll share the rest of the upgrades on a YouTube video.
Thank You to John for this awsesome corvette forum and the amazing restomod he built.
