Its going to be 1 lucky guy getting this car. Im jealous.

On to my critics:
Is that the LSx motor mounts above the shorty headers?

They seem a little short on metal for 630HP. There are a few others around (like VetteDans) that are 1 solid piece and not cut out like the ones youve got pictured. Id worry about them twisting and tearing apart.

Are the brake calipers O-ringers? They should be for a safety upgrade (not performance).

Keep the pics coming.

Best Regards, Brent....

Very nice build.

Can't wait till you put that engine & drivetrain in.
Very nice.

You know what, I was thinking the same thing. That is what was supplied in the kit. They are 3/8" plate....I don't see the reason for being open in the middle. As far as the Calipers go....I'm not sure.

Very nice.

Waxing the frame? Not sure if that was sarcastic or not....I only waxed it just for easier clean-up of finger prints, assembly lubes, dust, etc.....Thanks for the nice comments.....slowly but surely....I work on its steadily everyday, piece by piece.

Anyway...I was super impressed with my coater, I dropped off the three items yesterday, and I got them back to day !!!

Now that is turn-around !!!

Check it out....

50/50
Waxing the frame sounds like a waste of time but it sure would have made a difference in my case b/c my frame collected so much dust and residue sitting in my tent as I wrapped up my frame off. The wind blows under the tent and kicks up more dust than you would expect.
The wax would have made it much easier to clean. Good idea.

Here are the 1/2 FP bungs for the custom deep sump I am going to build. They are next to a 1/4 FP. I need to get a 3/8 FP for the top of the tank to use as a return....

Waxing the frame? My Bro in law was polishing his SRIII frame so it would clean up easier. Not a bad idea at all. I don't know how long it will stay waxed but it can't hurt at this point.

Looking good. I like the fuel line bracket you built. By that brackets placement, it looks like the fuel lines are going back on the original side of the car. The LS1/6 motors fuel inlet is on the drivers side of the motor and I was going to run mine down the drivers side. Is the LS7 different or are you going to run the fuel line across the motor?

Thanks...

Well the fuel inlet is on the driver side fuel rail....I was planning on using all the original predrilled/tapped mounting holes of the original fuel lines which ran along the pass. side.

It wont be a big deal at this point. There is still the regulator and guage that I kinda wanted visible. So the line will crossover the engine, but I don't it'll be a big deal though.

later

I received the last of parts to be coated (hopefully).
-
-
Rear crossmember:
-

-

-

-
and also the bushings from ZIP came today as well...
-

-
-
The steering box came in and went right back out to StraightLineSteering for reassembly:
-
-

-
My coater does a great job in masking where you don't want paint...although a little squeezed by in to the lockring threads, but not a big deal.

One of these days I gotta get myself setup to do powder coating. It looks great and should last a long time.

I know what you mean...years ago when I was a kid my folks had an old gas Okeefe&Merrit Gas oven...that thing was HUGE !!!

It was moved done to the cellar, and hooked up to a gas-line down there....eventually, it was tossed.

I wish I still had it...they make some nice kits for home-coating !!!

Here's a few more....We received the steering box today, which was a pretty good turn-around, they did an awesome job:
-

-

-

-

-
I rolled the previously coated and rebuilt housing outside for a quick pressure wash and cleaning:
-

-

-

-
Pressing in the new bushing...they went in super easy:
-

-
A pipe from a previous air-ride install worked out perfect:

The block-saver plate must be clearanced for a block-mounted starter:
-

-
The knockout really didn't 'knock-out' really easy, so I just clearanced with the plasma...
-

-

-

-

-
Also had to clearance for a little ridge on the back of the block/oilpan area...this is neccesary so the plate rest flat up against the block..
-

-
Test fitting...

Temporarily mounted the bell-housing to set-up the clutch-fork, and cut-off the excess thread.
-

-
-
I called the engine supplier regarding the flywheel torque-specs....I AM GLAD I DID !!! (rather than looking it up on the web)....The flywheel bolts are a ONE TIME USE...they stretch and SHOULD NOT be reused. I did not know this, man that could of been disasterous !!!

Anyway, he is overnighting me six new bolts....

Also Classic Chevy 5-speed is sending me metric pressure-plate bolts as well. I was using the housing bolts for the above mock-up.
