I plan to install mine to the passenger-side inner fender behind the A/C accumulator/drier. Easy access through the splash shield at the bottom of the fender.

I installed mine on the left side on the rear of the fender well in place of the charcoal canister. It is slightly raised and gets airflow on all sides from air exiting through the fender vents. It is JUST visible from the outside, if you look into the vent. It is servicable from underneath by removing the splash shield. My Crane spark box is mounted in a similar position on the fight side, and the rev limiter can be adjusted through the vent.

Looks like you got good answers to your question.

Do not mean to hijack the thread but those of you that have done a TPI install can answer a very important question concerning the installation. Who did your prom burning for you to eliminate VATS etc? Were you satisfied with the work the programmer did?

I plan on mounting at the left side fender well. I have the holley stealth ram. Not to change the subject but what did you guys do for the harness? I have a corvette tpi harness for the 7727 it would need to be made longer. I was looking at Jims Performance

Got my own eprom burner and adapters that plug in between the factory memcal and the board so that it's easy to change chips.

As far as I know the Painless harness is not for the 7727 ECM. The connectors at the ECM are different. www.pcmforless.com burned my chip and is highly recommended on the C4 section of this forum.

The Painless 60203 harness is listed for the 90-92 Camaro and Corvette MAP systems so I would assume the 7727 (vette)and the 7730(Camaro) ECM connectors would be the same but have not compared them side by side so I do not know for sure. With the longer cables you could install the 7730 ECM inside if you wanted to. Of course with all the room under our dashes that may be a little tight.

He does an awsome job, I just called him friday and ordered a new chip to add EGR (I had it deleted off my old one). He only charged me $30 since I had the adapter from the first purchase.

I built 90% of my system from there, they do harness modifications too

Great timing
I was going to locate my 7727 on the passinger side inner fender, I do not have AC so it's wide open back there for easy access to the ECM.

Here is a very old thread on the subject from the GMECM forum, but I don't know how long it's going to be around: http://gmecm.mine.nu/viewtopic.php?t=18

Some pictures:

I don't have any contact info for him beyond the PM feature there. I don't know if he's making them anymore or not.

Ah ha! Found a place to order them: http://www.moates.net/product_info.p...products_id=32

And a good overview of the installation: http://www.moates.net/documentation....mentation_id=9

Not exactly identical, but functionally the same.

I use TPIS up in Minnesota. Their harnesses are awesome and they do all the chip programming. That's Myron Cotrells company and I am extremely satisfied with their work. They are pretty close to Rippie.

I bought my cold start delete plug kit from him and was disatisfied with the way the rear rail plug worked. I ended up using the runner plug that came with the kit and bought a threaded rear plug from street and performance.

His prices look good though
