Default Head light problem....probably something simple

When i let the car warm up at idle, i cant the headlights to come up usually, but when rev around 1000-1200, the left one will come up very quick, but the passenger side will not :nonod: What are some of the things i should diagnose knowing this??
Thanks,
Chris

These things work by manifold vacuum and of course should open at idle.....check vac hoses between actuator and manifold, and maybe you'll need a new or rebuild actuator for that side.....Good Luck!!!!!!

Almost always the rubber boot on the actuator. You can buy a replacement for ~ $15 and install it your self. Too check take the vac. hose off the the front fitting on the actuator. Pull open the headlight bucket with your hand and while stopping the fitting with your finger, pull up and down on the bucket. If it is bad the bucket will move, if not it will not move and you will feel pressure or vacuum on your finger.

Complete illustrated instructions here:
http://www.zip-corvette.com/has.htm

This artlicle was printed in Corvette Fever magazine a year or so ago. The article is on the Zip-corvette website so all the parts should be available from Zip thru the CF restoration store.

If you are really daring, you might try substituting a baby bottle nipple (8 for $2.99?) for the $10 actuator seal. They are roughly the same size/shape. :) MJ
