1973-4 nose on a '77?

1973-4 nose on a '77?
Will there be any fitment problems doing this? I plan to remove the giant block of metal that is the impact absorber and I would like to take advantage of that extra airflow through the middle. Also I hate the "bumpers" that stick out on 75 and later noses. Anyone ever tried this?

Funny you should ask, I bought a 77 that was represented as all original with original emblems, etc. When it arrived, it had a 74 front end with 74 emblems. The entire front end had been changed. I sold it and bought a truly original 78 Silver Anniversary. I took a loss, but I'm a little particular about pieced together cars. I assume it would be less valuable to other buyers in the future, too. It can be done, but not by replacing the bumper. You can see why if you compare the shape of the two as mentioned earlier.

Nuts, didn't notice that. Too good to be true. I'm certainly not going to go changing noses or anything. Maybe I will modify a fiberglass bumper to look how I want.
