i think me and my dad are gonna rebuild the motor in my 76 instead of buying one from oreillys...is the crank a forged one? luckily i can get a forged piston rebuild kit for a little over $500...i love employee discounts

What are you starting with?
L-82 had forged crank, pistons and 4 bolt mains from the factory. L-48 had 2 bolt mains, cast crank and pistons. Your VIN will tell you what came in the car, assuming you still have the original engine.
