To build a drag strip...
from the complaining population that can always even after its
all built been running for awhile cause problems. the differance
in Liability insurance for a 1/4 mile track or 1/8 mile is big, they know
full well cars will be running at higher speeds on the 1/4 mile track.
there is an 1/8 mile track north of me that has the land to go to
1/4 mile they are willing to make the track longer would like to
do so but the liability insurance would go up on them big time so
there not going to do it.
An 8th of a mile strip could eventually be a more easy approach, i'd think about it, after all 90% of the racers will have their own 'modded' daily driver for a sprint...
Nice drawing, thanks. It gives me a good overall view of the strip design.

Why not a ZIG-ZAG line back to have some "lateral-fun" and not only "longitudinal-fun" ?????''
Here in Italy our Club (Scuderia Corvette Italia) with others friend Clubs (V8 and AMP) have organized a "test" championship!
4 races (2 of 1/8 mile and 2 of 1/4 mile) in Club Airports and Racetracks....
...By The Way I won all the races with my 79
Faster than C5, C6, Z06, Viper GTS, Viper RT and Viper SRT10....... not to mention all the American Muscle-car...... !!!!
It was difficult but we had some good success..... some 50 racers each race.
The main problem is Politics (bleha...) Noise, Stupid people!
I wish you the best success..... but it will be difficult.

If you'd visit one for a test-n-tune session, you'll get an idea of what is needed, at the bare-minimum.
Unfortunately it got run down, and the owner was reluctant to do repairs.
When the track lost its accreditation to run the quick cars, the owner spat the dummy and closed it off to all.
This is where we're at in getting a drag strip in Adelaide....
We now have a consortium of Adelaide businesses who are lobbying our state government to get a leasehold or purchase some unused land which could provide a complete home for a variety of motorsports.
There is local government support for the proposal, but our state government has its head buried deeply in it's butt!
Here's the website which is petitioning for support.

Big public meeting coming up to gauge support and plan a public protest rally at parliament house.
THIS WILL BE and election issue come time for our state elections in March next year!
