Default Hooker Sidepipes

Looking on hooker website today. They have stainless sidemount headers for sbc vette.would these look funny with chrome side tubes.would be nice if collector wouldn't rot out.And no hard to reach rust to polish. I use brodix track 1 heads. I remember 12 years ago having to cut one pipe and heat to bend and reweld so I could have clearance for plug.Any one else have this problem? I see they have available #21046 HKR muffler insert. inserts I used were so restrictive I welded cones infront to help, but then removed them and put vortex cones at collector and cemestry baffles half way down. It was loud but I could feel the difference.I want to drive more then 20 miles without putting earplugs in or putting windows up.Second ? use larger opening #21046 hkr or 4'' grainagore thing there selling out there? HP difference in 2500 to 7000 range with 406 sbc 630 solid roller 106 center. any suggestions

You can get both, the headers and side tubes, in Stainless.
Summit sells 4" vette side tubes pn HOK-50735-3HKR for $420.
I've also seen them mix matched and it looks ok too.
As for mufflers, everything I've read says the Hooker mufflers are all too restrictive, especially for your kind of HP. Check out http://www.spiralturbobaffles.com/ for baffles.

All right, I got the right guys attention.I wasn't up to date ,haven't looked at that site in about 7 years. He has a good product,or a lot of good friends.HA HA The sound bite helped after reading the HP improvements. What the # for vette side tube.Is a pair 335./are they stainless or steel.Due they have directions on exact placement for HP and sound control/ with centers open. Dumb ? if cap was on back and easy to remove would that affect the flow of your product when cap is on ? Is chuck's 69 coated or stainless pipes?Important ? were can I find about 4''w polished stainless band clamps with preformed slip fit down middle for these pipes/ a part #?I'm sick of fighting these thing everytime I remove them/ I want a nice clean look.I have new chrome side tubes/need headers. What would stainless headers and chrome tubes look like? any pic's.Has hooker changed header fit sents late seventy's. Most vette sbc's run angleplug aluminum heads now.I had to cut,heat/and bend front pass. to install plug with brodix track 1.I'm building 406/600hp for street/ I might buy dyno time to compare stuff. By-the-way what did Johl Rosin use for inserts/He knows how restrictive hooker's are. I hope I receive answers to all my ? THANKS

Thankx cottoneg, that was the stuff i was looking for.Great collection, funny how my ? are just a repeat of others.I've been thinking about this stuff for 12 years.I'm going with the sts, modify back for removable cap.It has more volume/flow over 2.5 max, when running over500HP level.I might try 2.5 max if I dyno, to compare powerand sound.406/600+ HP

Just put a set of chrome on mine... here's a link to the thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1918911
I went with the Hooker Max-Flows. There's a link in that thread to a couple of sound clips. They sound good, but they are loud... you won't be sneaking up on anybody with these things! I have seen the jet-hot coated headers with chrome tubes, and I think it looks fine. I would think the stainless/chrome would be a nice combo too.
