Default Fiber Optics

Ok.......I decided that I can"t live with dim rear fiber optic light on the console. I want to by a fiber optic sub assembly and install it. However, my carpets are brand new and I would hate to rip them up to run the wiring. Any ideas...and yes I should have replaced them before the carpets. Thanks

Pretty sure the harness runs along the driver side sill on its way rearward. Hungs along up the rear pillar. all close to the carpet edge

At least on a '69 the rear fiber optic bundle does not follow the wiring harness. It enters the console from the rear below the three access doors so you really don't need to disrupt too much carpet, unless it routed under the rear compartment rugs.

Clean the ends and get the dirt out of that area on the bulbs. They might be as bright as you need. Remember, the fibers don't wear out..
