Default 69 BB valve covers

I had the 427 rebuilt with roller rockers and put it back in. The new valve covers are too tall, and the stock ones are too short.
Does anyone make a valve cover for this? or should I use taller gaskets?

I have roller rockers and stud girdles on my 454 and had no choice but to use the tall covers. I had to grind a small area on the drivers side firewall for them to fit. I also have to remove the wiper door actuator to remove the passenger side cover. But they do fit.

I have comps roller rockers on my 454,with the stock chrome valve covers. What I did was cut the collar down that the set screw is in, so there is just enough to grab the outside with a wrench about a 1/16" left. I couldn't believe how easy the metal cut with a band saw.I think I only had to do the intakes I did this 3 years ago so I don't remember for sure. I than used 2 gaskets the felpro ones with the metal and cork. I never had any leaks or rockers hitting the valve covers, and I have had them off a lot to adjust the lifters in the last 3 years. I'am running a comp XE274S cam, it's nice having the rollers and still have the stock looking valve covers

I just bought a set of stock looking chrome valve covers that are 3/4 of an inch taller than stock. They clear the rockers just fine. I don't have the body back on yet so I don't know if they are going to hit anything. In the past I have used the spacers for stock covers with no problems.

Default Valve Cover Clearance

Although I Have Not Seen Any For The Bbc I Ran Into This Problem With My Shelby Mustang. I Found A 1" Spacer Made Of Alum. That Goes Between The Head And Valve Cover. When This Is In Place You Have To Really Look Had To Tell It's There.
Try A Google Search For Valve Cover Spacers Or Extentions.
Good Luck

There are spacers listed on e-bay for very reasonable prices if you decide to look for them.

great ideas and info. Thanks Guys.
I think I will stack the gaskets for now to get her running and look into spacers for a permanent solution.
