Anybody considered the new automatic from Keisler? The install looks a little easier than the earlier overdrives. I'm wondering about the quality of the trans from GM [4l60e] If anybody has any input on either I would like to hear it. This automatic is a little cheaper and easier than the 5 speed install and might be what I'm looking for if the tranny is tough enough. I've shied away from the 200 r4 and the 700r4 as I think they might be a little light weight. I have a drooling leaking sluggish th400 and think this trans may be a little better. I'm putting this behind a 383 short block from the General of Motors that has Afr 195's and an lt4 hot cam. TIA
4L60E is a Very nice transmission. You will need a controller for it. A cool thing is all the shift points are programable.
Yeah the kit comes with a controller, driveshaft, crossmember, flywheel etc. I don't think they left too many things out. I was just wondering if this trans is just as beefy as the th400 and reliable.
450 ft lbs Stage 1
550 ft lbs Stage 2
650 ft lbs Stage 3
The trans are all dyno tested and come complete with all the parts needed to do the job. There is no mods needed to the car and the shifter even looks stock when finished.
I hope it has the sonnax valve fix. This is the same tranny in my 2000 camaro and at about 80k i threw a code and the torque converter is having trouble locking up due to that sonnax valve and tq lock up sensor.
