Default front emblem

I am in process of stripping all the paint for a repaint and can't see how the front emblem comes off.I got underneath and it seems like it is held on by a plate attached to the front nose mount but I don't see any nuts through the plate to the emblem. It's like it is tac welded to the plate but cant see that.
Anyone know about this?
Thanks for the help. Wave on \ ////

My '77s nose emblem (from Zip or Mid-America) is held on by two sided tape. There are a couple of protrusions (1/4" or so) that go into two holes in the nose, but there's nothing attached to them from behind the bumper.

Mine came off when someone ran into my parked car, you could try that.

Don't pry it off. Use either a piece of dental floss or fishing line. Put it under a corner of the emblem and make it long enough so you can do a "sawing" motion, up and down. That will cut through the tape and not damage the paint. Just my .02(through experience) :seeya

Also, heating it up with a hairdryer will loosen it up.
