Default Power gain from being bored over

Pondering on my parts selection and what kind of power I would like to make versus what I think I will make with my selection of parts I became stuck with question.

I'm using the block from the original l48 motor and took it to the machine shop to do whatever was necessary to make it usable. When I got it back they said it took boring it out .030 to smooth up the cylinders.

So how much power would be added from boring a 350 30 over?

The parts I had in mind were the stock crank, rods cannibalized from a vortec 305, about 10.25:1 compression, ZZ4 roller cam, hyd roller lifters from the same 305, GMPP vortec heads casting 8060 upgraded for .525 lift, crane 1.5:1 roller rockers, (not sure about the intake), topped of with an edelbrock 650cfm carb.

I plan on using an edelbrock EFI kit when I have the cash.

I believe boring to .030 results in a 355 CI motor, less than 2% increase in capacity. Is that going to give you a performance increase? yes, but not something you can feel with your buttometer. Renewing your engine with all the same parts as what were in there and boring it .030 will give a power increase as the parts are NEW, not worn out. Modifying the engine with those new parts should result in an increase in power as well

didn't think it would be a major gain but was curious.

The first thing I did when I bought the car was to start building a new engine.
The original engine probably made a whopping 150 tops as it was, being so worn out.

But the first engine I built for it I threw together too quickly and something was funky with it and it finally spun several bearings so right now the vette has a 327/300 from a 62 that is in pieces in my dad's garage.

I've been driving with the temporary motor for a while, but I'm finally getting around to build a new (hopefully permanent) engine for it so that my dad can have his back.

Over bore very little you are just putting the cylinders back round for the most part.

Stroking is where you gain the most at. Next is the top end thats where all the horsepower is made
