Corvette Tach Drive, PN 8572
For Covettes or race cars using a mechanical tach, this is what you need. The billet aluminum housing features an unobtrusive tach drive which can easily be reversed for ease of installation. Plus, the drive is equipped with a grease fitting and backlash adjustment.
The Distributor is built around the PN 8361 Street Pro-Billet with the same components delivering accurate trigger signals and spark delivery. It also must be used with an MSD Ignition Control.

Re: I need a distributor,what to get? (pats406nitrovette) (X-OTIC)
The MSD shown works great. I run one and really like it...especially with my 6AL.
X-OTIC, the HEI style cap is available for it, but you have to order it separately. Just ask for the HEI window style cap for MSD distributors. (I forgot the part number). :smash:
Speaking of HEI, what is the major difference between HEI distributors, and normal electric ones with a seperate coil?? Just that the cap hold the coil, or is there more to it??
Thanks
Chris

There's an ignition module which replaces the points on a conventional distributor. Also, the cap is physically larger which is intended to space the spark plug wire terminals further apart to reduce the possibility of misfiring.
