Well I dunno about losing my lunch....but........ummmm....well......i t IS different!!
the mods are OK...but that paint!!!
Don't think it would be so bad if it was all ONE color  Maybe??
I have a hard time believing that this is a 72! Every body panel is from a 74 or later, including the vents, front fenders, etc. It doesn't even have the switch for the alarm in the right spot. Either somebody went to a great deal of trouble to modify ALL of the body panels or perhaps that VIN tag doesn' belong to the car.

Exactly what I was thinking. Anyone ask him for the VIN?

The VIN posted is correct for a '72. The question remains whether it's the correct VIN for this Corvette. Hood, whale tail, and front spoiler are aftermarket (probably Eckler's). Doghouse and rear bumper could have come from the same donor car and appear to be stock panels. I see enough clues to conclude this old girl has been whacked, probably spun, and bunged up on both ends. Wouldn't be surprised to learn the "spring bracket" got destroyed during the spin.
:)
That is certainly NOT the ugliest thing I've seen to a C3 (At least it's not a batmobile or decked out with **** carpeting). This one could be salvaged.. and frankly, I think a good paintjob and the removal of that annoying wing in the back would do wonders for it as a start.
Whether it's a 72 or not.. who knows.. lol. I've seen enough part swaps on all makes and models of vehicles to know that what's advertised is most certainly NOT what you get. I wonder if the vin#'s match for the car? I suppose it's possible that the car was trashed and used a substantial amount of donor parts to rebuild.. or the guy was an idiot and used donor parts to "custom" his ride.
2k isn't that bad of a price if the car has little more than the cosmetics wrong with it.
