Are they worth the money...or will the rubber dust boots suffice? I installed the ones which came with my moog ball joints...I didn't realize that energy suspension made poly dust boots. I have poly everywhere on my car...
The rubber ones will last the life of the part. I consider the poly ones as more of a replacement option should you damage the rubber boot during disassembly.
When I rebuilt my front suspension I looked at the poly boots that came with the front end kit and tossed them back in the box. The rubber ones will do fine.
I have found that all rubber is not created equally these days. I have installed some ball jounts and had the rubber split within 3 years. I replaced them with poly. Hopefully Moog rubber is better than some you get now.
The upper poly boots won't work with your Moog ball joints. The Moog ball joints are 2 pieces. The ball joint itself and the shielding that bolts on from the underside. The rubber boot goes into the sheilding 1st. Poly boots go on the outside. So when you grease the bj, grease will spit out the top of the poly boot. Stick with rubber for the application. The lower poly boots will fit, they are just a really tight fit. Most compain about the fitment but they will go.
Good information guys I am going to stick with my moog rubber dust boots until they tear and are no good...it'll save me from having to disassemble the entire front end again.
