Re: Compared Vendor Prices and Guess What? (JRChurch)
I always comparison shop when I need parts. Nine times out of ten I will find what I want at the best price from my all time favorite aftermarket provider: ZIP Products Inc., Mechanicsville, Virginia. Try 'em. You'll like 'em. They're good people at ZIP.
:)

Did you include The Last Detail in your comparo? I compared a few basic parts a while back (more than one year ago) and was surprised to see that their prices were lower than other vendors. They carry lots of AC Delco parts. I have used the forum restoration store (ZIP) recently because they have good prices, good service, ordering is easy online, supports the CF, etc.. MJ

I would like what ever info you have. I don't believe you would be violating any rules by posting an independant comparason of vendors. If your stating facts your not advertising for the company your distributing good info. I'm asking because it is research you did while it is true that I could do it to, you saved me the work and more impotantly the time and I think it would be well received on the forum. I'd like to see it posted but if you still don't feel comfortible with that please e-mail it to me at vcole@metrocast.net

Did basically the same comparison over the last few months and came out with the same conclusion: Dr. Rebuild.
I even went so far as to visit his warehouse and I thought I died and went to acandy store in Corvette heaven.
He's got it all and much of it is factory original. He runs a no frills business and keeps his prices down. No corvette bedspreads or underwear but my car doesn't need those things anyway. Excellent catalog too especially if you want to see how things go together. It's alsmost like a mini assembly manual.
Usual disclaimer: not related or in any way affiliated and have no financial interest.

HI Guy's I just finished my interior on my car and got excellent service from Wilcox Corvette. There part's are all drop shipped from corvette america.I also shopped around and was told by a friend to check them out and there prices were the best i could find.I bought the folowing off them.Door Panels, Acc carpeting complete set, leather seat covers & Foam, parking brake console, shifter console, rear quarter trim panels, sun visers, door pulls and a few little other items.Everything was at my door within 2 1/2 weeks.Only called them back to say thanks for the good service and prices.>STW< Frank :flag
I always compare prices as well. There is one vendor that gets left out because it wouldn't matter if this vendor was giving parts away, I wouldn't take them, but we'll leave that where it is. I tend to go with Rik's almost exclusively anymore. I also like Zips. Their prices seem to be a tad higher than Rik's, but the service is spectacular, and when I order from the restoration store it supports the forum. That's a biggie as well. The other two I have used with tremendous success are Eckler's and Mid America.
I think that on most items the prices are pretty close at all vendors when it comes down to the total order. The name of the game is service. Of course, Zip's free shipping through the restoration store helps as well, when they run that offer. Last time they did it set me back a few hundred bucks. :D
