Default Windshield Question

I need to get a new windshield for my 78. Where would be the best place to get one? I want to install it myself. Never did the installation before. It should be interesting

Most of the major automotive glass places will carry your windshield. just go to yellowpages.com and type in automotive glass and your zip code and you will find a bunch. Nor trying to discourage you from doing the job your self but I just paid a glass place $50 dollars to reinstall my windshield back into my 77. It took 2 guys from start to finish almost an hour to get it right and that was not reinstalling my trim. They both had the big suction cups with handles to get it straight. The windshield has to be put in lower side first and pivot it into place. It sits pretty low into the corners of the fenders.

We paid $60 for a brand new 1970 windshield last year from glass masters and installed it ourselves.

I called a few places today. The best price was $200.00 and that's installed at my shop. I guess I'll let them do the installation. I've done the prep and paint on the pillars already. Now just waiting on Corvette Central.

Good luck on Corvette Central

I had a windshield installed last year, I ordered it online from safelite autoglass. Cost less than $200 alltogether and well worth it.

Make sure whoever installs it shims the upper part of your windshield so you don't have a gap when you install the upper trim.
